Chinese scholars win the winner and runner-up prize at Asia Pacific Cryoablation Challenge competition of APCIO

The 6th Asia-Pacific Conference of Interventional Oncology (6th APCIO) was held on October 2nd to 5th ,2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,About 204 faculties from all of the world attended this conference. The programme encompassed 7 tracks, 101 sessions, and 415 excellent lectures including case presentations, 4 live case transmissions as well as Young Investigator Award competition, Guerbet cTACE Challenge and Asia Pacific Cryoablation Challenge etc. This academic feast unfold the latest scientific and technic developments in Interventional Oncology.

Two Chinese scholars from Shandong Medical Imaging Research Institute and First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital Beijing on behalf of ASC(Asia Society of Cryoablation)participated in this conference,and competed with other 6 competitors(from Malaysia,India,Taiwan etc.)on Asia Pacific Cryoablation Challenge stage. The competition consists of 8 minutes of presentation and 2 minutes of question and answer. After the fierce rivalry,the judging panel(consists of four judges from Malaysia,UK,Taiwan,and India)has reached a consensus that two competitors from China by virtue of their capability of innovation and clinical experience of cryoablation as well their excellent English expression of their cases,namely “TACE Combined MRI-Guided Cryoablation for Hepatocellular Carcinoma:A case report”, and“Combination of Artificial Pneumoperitoneum and Percutaneous Cryoablation for a 10-year Myofibroblastoma“,deserve the award of winner and first runner-up prize. This conference improves the academic communication of interventional oncology worldwide,an this competition and awarded,highlights the power and impact in the field of cryoablation from Chinese scholar.
