The International Society of Cryosurgery (ISC) is holding its 22nd ISC Congress this weekend (September 22-23, Beijing time). The conference will be held primarily online, with the main venue in Vienna, Austria, the birthplace of the ISC. There will be extensive, in-depth, high-level academic exchanges between renowned experts in the field of cryoablation and cryosurgery from all over the world. The Congress will offer two days of fascinating dialog covering technological advances in the field of cryomedicine, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and management, as well as new approaches, beliefs, and concepts that are shaping the development of our profession.

Now in its 51st year since its founding in 1972, the ISC has followed the original charter of its founding and is dedicated to advancing research and continuing medical education in the fields of cryosurgery, cryobiology, cryoimmunotherapy, cryopreservation, and cryomedicine. Experts from all over the world have actively participated in promoting academic exchanges in ISC and have continued to explore cryonics. From the initial exploratory studies to the NCCN guidelines related to tumor cryoablation, the standard of cryotherapy for benign and malignant tumors has been established. Cryotherapy has been accepted by clinical experts in various fields. The development of cryotherapy is the result of the efforts of experts from all over the world, especially Prof. Nikolai N. Korpan, Prof. Xu Kecheng, Prof. Xiao Yueyong, and the late Prof. Saijo Sumida, who contributed greatly to the development and reform of international cryomedicine.

The 22nd ISC Council, under the leadership of President Yaron Har-shai, has made outstanding contributions to the development of ISC. According to the ISC bylaws, the term of the 22nd ISC Council will expire, and the new ISC Committee members will be announced and the 23rd ISC President and Vice-President will be elected at the ISC Academic Conference.
