The first 3T high field interventional MRI operating room in China has been assembled successfully in the radiologic department of the 1st medical center of PLA General Hospital in Beijing, and a serial iMRI procedures including MRI-Guided cryoablation of tumors have been performed. The preliminary MRI-Guided procedures show that all its advantages have reached the international advanced level. In the future, with the expansion and improvement of iMRI projects and contents, the level of non-vascular intervention in our hospital will be greatly improved.
As early as 15 years ago, with the guidance of Professor Xiao Yueyong, we adopted the open type permanent magnet low field MRI equipment(GE 0.35T) to carry out interventional diagnosis and treatment, At that time, due to the low field strength of magnet equipment and the long imaging time during the procedures, its advantages were not demonstrated well. However, nowadays. Professor Xiao says that with the completion of the 3T high field iMRI OR, the preponderance of MRI guided minimally invasive therapy such as MR fluoroscopy guided punctures, intraoperative thermography imaging will be fully demonstrated, and different kinds of the high field fast MRI scanning sequence will evaluate the efficacy of the intervention operation immediately.
The 3T iMRI OR is a radiation-free, high spatial resolution environment, real-time navigation minimally invasive interventional complex. Based on the 301 Hospital platform, we have explored the new technology and methods to build up the advantages of the general hospital. It is believed that with the care of leaders at all levels, the level of Radiology intervention in the first medical center will continue developing.
